“Mustard Seed” — Podcast Episode 44 on the show, “Touching People For Heaven.”
“Mustard Seed”
Mark 4:30-32 (KJV) And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it? It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth: But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.
Greetings friend!
Let’s Pray!
“Lord Jesus, you are simply amazing! It seems that every time we call upon your name, there are things that happen that could be called a “miracle!” We love you Lord, and so appreciate all that you are doing to prepare your bride for that beautiful day. Thank you Holy Spirit for your continual communion and fellowship and comfort to us. Without you, we suppose there may be no way that we could be ready for our bridegroom. We love you! In our Saviour’s name we pray. Amen.”
Isn’t it odd when you think about the prayer we just prayed? Did you notice that we prayed about being a bride for a bridegroom? Have you also noticed that many people are asking questions about the end times? Also, some are asking is this when Jesus is suppose to return? Interesting questions that many are asking. Of course we all know that questions like these are asked when there are great tribulations going on around us and around the world… like the years, 2020 and 2021. However, we just continue on our path with the Lord Jesus Christ!
In our previous Sunday Prayer Letter, we talked about Romans 8:26 and the letter was titled, “Intercession For Us” … the letter outlined many key items that may help us to understand the roll of the Holy Ghost in the believers life. In this letter, we will be continuing our discussion about the many aspects of the Holy Ghost. As usual though, we will look at this in a most unusual way. So let’s get started!
The titled sort of says what I want to share in this letter. “Mustard Seed.” What is the first thing you think about when you say the words, mustard seed?
Here is Webster’s 1828 definition of mustard…
MUS’TARD, n. A plant of the genus Sinapis, and its seed, which has a pungent taste and is a powerful stimulant. It is used externally in cataplasms, and internally as a diuretic and stimulant.
Also here is the definition of seed…
SEED, n. 1. The substance, animal or vegetable, which nature prepares for the reproduction and conservation of the species. The seeds of plants are a deciduous part, containing the rudiments of a new vegetable. In some cases, the seeds costitute the fruit or valuable part of plants, as in the case of wheat and other esculent grain; sometimes the seeds are inclosed in fruit, as in apples and melons. When applied to animal matter, it has no plural. 2. That from which any thing springs; first principle; original; as the seeds of virtue or vice. 3. Principle of production.
When you think of the “kingdom of God” what comes to mind?
Here is maybe a different answer to this question. In preface, since the Father is in heaven, we are on earth, the Word is on the right hand of God, therefore this leaves the Holy Ghost… where is he? Yes, that’s correct… the Holy Ghost is here on earth with us! This is what Jesus talked about, when he mentioned that the Father will send the promise.
Could this be likened to a “Mustard Seed?”
See what I mean? This letter may be a little different than what you hear most preachers talk about when the sermon is on the “mustard seed!”
Look at this scripture: Matthew 13:31 (KJV) Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:
What field would this be in our discussion? That’s right, the earth! The Holy Ghost is here, now, and growing and maturing the body of Christ into a bride fit for a KING!
Here’s another one: Matthew 13:32 (KJV) Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.
We are like trees… the Holy Ghost is growing us and shaping us into the image of Christ! So much so, that people will come to lodge in our branches and take shelter. This is a stretch and I understand this… however, the Holy Ghost is not limited to our brain. This is why the diligent study of the word of truth is very important to a believer’s life in Christ. This also let’s us know why our enemy is hot after changing the bible to match what he wants done. Beware!
Okay, so let’s come back to reality or earth or whatever… and see what Jesus is talking about here in our text of Mark 4:30-32. There are several key points that Jesus is teaching on, not just one. Do you see that?
Let’s talk briefly on some of these points.
“Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God?”
Clearly we can see that Jesus is going to tell us about his kingdom. He is the King of the kingdom of God! That’s pretty cool… we are apart of the King! Jesus is also teaching that the kingdom of God is simple to understand and not a complex, mystical, metaphysical, cosmic, universe type thing that you here new age people discuss or describe. I am so convinced, that new age philosophy is NOT the way to go. However, I hear many Christians on the street talk like new age… their words are scrambled and nonsensical. As a street preacher, I think we come up with a lot of goofy words to relate to the passerby on the street! This could also by why many don’t get the street preaching ministry. Oh well… tally ho!
“or with what comparison shall we compare it?”
Comparing the kingdom of God to something on earth is really bringing heaven into focus for us and giving us the opportunity to grasp the enormity of eternity and of heaven. We can look around and see what Jesus is taking about. Therefore, we can understand the kingdom of God by what Jesus taught and what the Holy Ghost has written in the word of truth.
“It is like a grain of mustard seed,”
Now that is simplifying this huge eternal existence down to our little earth, and not just to it, but to the smallest seed on the planet. (I’m just using the scriptures for discussion here, so I’m not aware of the all possible seeds on earth. Okay?)
“which, when it is sown in the earth,”
Are you glad that God didn’t talk about this seed being sown on the planet of Mars, or Jupiter, or even Pluto? I know that sounds funny, but God is very specific and not random and haphazard to his kingdom! Praise the Lord!
“is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:”
This part is the mind stretching part when we talk about the Holy Ghost in this parable. Think about this for a moment… in Acts chapter 2 we see that the Holy Ghost came to one place… he didn’t come to every place on earth all at once!
This one place, as described in Acts chapter 1 is a small location and in an upper room, not even in the entire home! This is a small place… one place… “And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room,” Acts 1:13, KJV. “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.” Acts 2:1, KJV.
Can you see that the Holy Ghost started in a very tiny location? And of course is now, over the entire globe! That is amazing! And this is why we start with something small and build. Amen?
“But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.”
This is why I love the Holy Ghost so very much! (Ref: 2 Corinthians 13:14, KJV.) Plus it is also why I have such a vast amount of joy, it’s because the Holy Ghost is in my life! (Ref: Acts 13:52, KJV.) This is also why we all must build up ourselves on our most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost! (Ref: Jude 1:20, KJV.)
When we grow with the aid of the Holy Ghost, people will be able to come to us and lodge under the shadow of our life in the Spirit. This is not us being big deals and full of pride and of a haughty spirit… NO… this is allowing the Holy Ghost to build our ministries so that people may come and hear the preaching and ministry and teaching of the gospel of Christ!
If we don’t grow in the Spirit of truth… then our spirit may turn and seek out the god of this world to be edified by. A HUGE ALERT HERE! This is another example of Ezekiel 13 in modern day. Always be alert and aware of false teachers and corrupted seed! That corrupted seed, just might be a devil! (A wolf in sheep’s attire?) I don’t know?
Let’s include here one more scripture… Mark 4:33 (KJV) And with many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to hear it.
Do you see the words, “as they were able to hear it.” This tells us that our Lord and Saviour knew their hearts and what they were able to digest at that time. This life with the Holy Ghost is no different. The Spirit of truth will only reveal what each of us are able to understand at the moment.
This could be another reason why Satan teaches those who will listen (hint hint… stop listening!). What the devil teaches is that conforming to this world is the better way to go, as a Christian… because, as Satan says, “so the world can relate to you.” That’s NOT what you, who are reading this Sunday Prayer Letter, need to do. What does the scripture actually say? Do you know? Do you know where it is in the bible?
Romans 12:2 (KJV) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
The seed that God sows in you will grow if you follow this Romans 12:2 commandment. And this is why we all need to know all the counsel of God. If we don’t know the word of truth… then being led astray becomes easy for the deceiver. Beware!
Okay… that’s it for this letter!
May the grace of Jesus fill your heart and mind…
May the mercy of God be full in your heart…
May the truth of the kingdom of God be overflowing in your life!
With great respect in JESUS,
—JC.
John 1:17 (KJV) For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
2 John 1:3 (KJV) Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
3 John 1:3 (KJV) For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.
Amen, and Amen.

“Intercession For Us” — Podcast Episode 43 on the show, “Touching People For Heaven.”
“Intercession For Us”
Romans 8:26 (KJV) Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Greetings friend!
Let’s Pray!
“Holy Spirit, thank you for helping us. Everything you do for us builds us up and edifies us. Without you Holy Ghost, life as a believer would be impossible… but with you, through Christ which strengthens us, we can do all things, to the glory of God our Father. Even now Holy Ghost, to the point of helping us to pray, right now. Thank you. Prayer brings us close to our Lord and Saviour. It’s almost like when you help us pray, we can see what we pray, even hear the answer to our prayer… isn’t this too a miracle? To hear from God, what a glorious communion we have with God by you Holy Ghost. Thank you for teaching us the word of truth about prayer. In the name of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.”
There is something so very special about real Spirit filled prayer that captivates my attention and my emotions. I hear so many naysayers put down the emotions of our spirit. I feel so sad for people who make life as a Christian mundane, legalistic, and emotionless. All we have to do is look into the word of truth and see for ourselves all the emotion exhibited by God himself! We are created in God’s image and his likeness. How could anyone categorize emotion as worldly or evil?
Obviously there are emotions that are of flesh and of the world. Must we talk about that? No. We move onward towards the high calling of God in Christ Jesus upon our lives. We are ambassadors of Christ! Resist what the devil tells you. Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up! Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. In Jesus name, in Jesus name, in Jesus name. Amen. Amen.
Well there you go! Another Sunday Prayer Letter is off and running… I love it! God is so good… let us all ask God to help us to be as good to him as he is to us. It’s a two-way street my friend… God is not mocked… whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. That’s an absolute doctrine… and not up for debate! Don’t be deceived my friend.
On the streets of my city I talk with dozens of people who have their own beliefs. They tell me that they don’t need the bible because they believe. They believe all kinds of weird and stupid stuff that they are convinced is the truth! Listen, if somebody believes a lie, that belief will not ever change the lie into a truth! Come on man… be smart! Oh well…
So now we move onto what this letter is all about. First, in the last Sunday Prayer Letter we talked about Romans 10:13 and the many supporting scriptures. The basis was that if someone would call upon the name of the Lord from a sincere or broken heart unto the Lord Jesus, that he would save them through their faith. This is along the lines of repentance and justification by faith. It was a wonderful letter, you should read it if you haven’t already, or maybe read it again?
In this Sunday Prayer Letter, we are about to talk about the theme in Romans 8:26. Now from my point of view this continues on a similar theme as many of the previous letters have covered. It’s rather amazing to me to see what the Holy Ghost is doing. I truly love this time in my Saturday Sabbath that I sit down at my desk and open up my SwordSearcher bible software, along with my King James Bible, and my Scourby app. It seems like this is a time that I get to listen to the Holy Ghost like none other time. I cherish it and protect my time with the Spirit of truth. I hope you do too!
Romans 8:26 (KJV) Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
One of my most favorite scriptures tie directly into this letter’s key scripture… namely, Jude 1:20. Let me also put it here:
Jude 20 (KJV) But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
The title of our letter is, “Intercession For Us”. At first glance, one would think that this refers to the Holy Ghost, and of course it does, however I see that this can include each of us interceding for all the names in our Prayer Book! I say that because, to think that we know what to pray, for each of these names that we mention to God in prayer, is to think we know more than God does! Right? I hear so many believers pray for things that God has no intention of answering! Why? Because they are praying out of their own spirit, NOT the Holy Spirit of God!
The good thing about any kind of prayer is that, if you continue praying AND asking the Holy Ghost for help, then the Spirit should redirect your prayers, or in other words, change your prayer and your heart to reflect what God wants for that person that you pray for. When we pray the words of God’s desire for the person, then we may most likely see a miracle! And let me clarify the word miracle… if God answers your prayers… that’s a miracle! I mean really! So many want some spectacular-earth-moving-out-of-this-world answer! Why not just be humble, and meekly ask our gracious Father which is in heaven, to help us to pray.
Romans 8:26 (KJV) Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities:…”
The word, likewise, points back one verse or so… it’s this one: “But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.”
To wait with patience, is an act of the Spirit of God in you. By forcing yourself to be patient, your flesh will grow, but your spirit will remain weak. By always trusting the Spirit of truth to show you the way, then your spirit will grow and mature in the Spirit of God.
We hope in things that are eternal, not temporal, because that is only what we can see. Eternal things are what edifies and builds our spirit. For we will not live here on what we now see. Later yes, however, we will have a new earth… this refers to much later in time, and only at God’s timing will that take place. Be ready now! And you can do that by, allowing the Spirit to help our weaknesses.
“…for we know not what we should pray for as we ought:…”
Do you think that is true? If so, then why is it that I hear so many Christians on the street pray like they know what is going on, and they don’t need any help from the Holy Spirit? To me, this is a scary way to live. For some reason, I’ve been blessed for decades to not pray on my own. What I mean is, I pray with the Holy Ghost. I ask what to pray. I ask how to pray. I ask is this correct? I ask how can I pray better? I ask how can I love you more? I ask how to pray the word of God? I ask and I ask and I ask… I don’t stop asking for help!!! I look at myself as being ignorant… that is the opposite of being smart! I think?
“…but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us…”
There it is… our answer on how to pray! This is very similar to what one of the disciples asked Jesus, “teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.” What we understand is, the Holy Ghost at this time, that Jesus was teaching how to pray, was prior to the Holy Ghost filling all, when the day of Pentecost was fully come. So then, could it be that now with the Holy Ghost present for all those who receive, can we now ask the Spirit of God to teach us to pray? And you know what? The Holy Ghost will take us through the holy scriptures, teaching us all things that the Lord Jesus Christ taught! Isn’t that beautiful?
Now a caution! We all know that when we build another foundation, even if we think we are doing good for people, then this person or persons or country will build something that will be like the city and a tower whose top may reach unto heaven. (ref: Ge 11.1-9). Beware of false teachers. This is why in these Sunday Prayer Letters, I constantly refer you back to the word of truth, the Holy Bible, King James Version. “The words of the LORD are pure words…Every word of God is pure…thy word is truth.” —Psalm 12 and Proverbs 30 and John 17, KJV.
“…with groanings which cannot be uttered.”
Okay, now here is the sticking point that get many believers off track and into wrong doctrine. Wow! Now that is a mouth full… and should wake us up from reading this long letter!
Take a long look at the word “groanings” or “groan”. Right next to this word is the phrase… “which cannot be uttered.”
Groan is first found in Exodus 2:24 “And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.”
Question: If groanings cannot be uttered, then how did God hear their groaning?
Answer: (Found in Webster’s 1828 Dictionary.) “GROAN, n. A deep mournful sound, uttered in pain, sorrow or anguish. 1. Any low, rumbling sound; as the groans of roaring wind.”
You see, groanings can be heard! They are sounds that come up out of your spirit.
Look here at the first mention of “groan” in the New Testament: John 11:33-35 (KJV) When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled, And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see. Jesus wept.
Please take a few minutes and think on these things. This is important to your future now, and later.
Groanings are low, rumbling sounds that resembles wind, wind that blows, wind that fills, as the groans of roaring wind. Acts 2:2 (KJV) And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. Acts 2:4 (KJV) And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Groanings can be heard! Let us take this to the next scripture that is important to your future. But first let me say, one of the reasons why the scripture says, “cannot be uttered” is possibly to safeguard us from forcing our spirit to take the place of the Holy Spirit of God. If the word said, can be uttered, then people may force their spirit to act like the Spirit of God. You can reference this in Ezekiel 13. However, in God’s wisdom, he said, “cannot be uttered.” This is something good to think on.
Jude 20 (KJV) But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
Jude tells us to build up ourselves on our most holy faith! Now, that is one big statement. When I say this to people, their first reaction is, they tilt their head in wonder! You see, to many preachers and pastors are feeding the flock of God’s sheep with “milk-toast!” This letter here is not milk; I think this could be titled “meat!” What do you think?
So now the Question is: How do we build up ourselves on our most holy faith?
The Answer: Praying in the Holy Ghost!
When we connect all the scriptures, in all the counsel of God, we come up with this: “They shall speak with new tongues;” —Mark 16:17, KJV. When you speak with new tongues, you are building up yourselves on your most holy faith!
From here, praying in the Holy Ghost, will be the answer to living through what may come next on earth? What is coming? God knows.
To fully understand the context of our verse for this letter, read the book of Romans. At least this part: Romans 8:1-39, KJV.
There you go my friend!
Here’s to another Sunday Prayer Letter in the books!
May the Lord who keeps the books see your name written that book!
The book of life…
In love with the Holy Ghost,
—JC.
Philippians 4:3 (KJV) And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.
Revelation 3:5 (KJV) He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
Revelation 20:15 (KJV) And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Amen, and Amen.

“Whosoever Shall Call”
Romans 10:13 (KJV) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Greetings friend!
Let’s Pray!
“Lord Jesus, we love you! We can love you because you first loved us. This is almost to hard for us to believe. Here we were hating on you, and you were loving on us. We suppose, that is one of the reasons, we love you now so very much… we were not lovable, and you still loved us. Lord Jesus, you provide to us such a wonderful example on how to love. If we love people like you love people, then our ministry should flourish, because all we have to do is to look around at all the souls being saved. This tells us that you truly do love people. Thank you Lord Jesus for all your beautiful gentleness and love. Help us to be like you, our Saviour! In your name Jesus, we pray. Amen.”
I’ve been crying for the last several minutes, and unable to write. Because of Jesus’ amazing love for me. I was a sinner. I was going to hell. I had no hope. I was lost. I had given up. I was in fear. I was trapped in sin. Then I cried out to Jesus, and simply said, “Jesus, if you’re real, here I am.” And he got me. He saved me. Oh Lord, I owe you my life and all my love, I so freely give to you all that I am, and all that I will ever be. I love you Jesus.
Still crying, and tears on my desk and bible… folks, we owe our love to Jesus for what he has done for us. Why oh why do you so love the world and give all your life to this dying world? Yesterday, or rather on Friday, I was in Denver, preaching and ministering for seven hours to about 3,000 people. Do you know how many of the 3,000 wanted to do what I was doing? That’s right, 0. Zero!
There must have been at least many hundreds of Christians where I was on Friday, however, you would never know it. The way Christian’s dress, the way they act, the way they talk, and the way they love all the world has to offer! Why? Isn’t the Lord Jesus Christ good enough to receive all your love? Why give Jesus, your bridegroom but a tidbit or a token or a drop of your love? And then turn away from Jesus, your Saviour who shed his precious blood on that old wooden rugged cross, just for you, so that you can come to heaven and have eternal life! Isn’t that enough to give an hour of your time to the Lord?
Isn’t it enough to give a look in the mirror and ask the Lord, is this what you want me to wear? Isn’t it enough to stop lusting after the world and its sin? Isn’t it enough….? Oh people, look at yourself… look deeply and think… and then ask the Lord Jesus Christ, your Saviour and God to help you to be the man or woman that the Lord wants you to be. I cry for your soul… and for mine. Save us Jesus…
“Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise.” Psalm 106:47 (KJV)
Well, once again, I start the Sunday Prayer Letter off with a bang! I write only what the Holy Ghost puts on my heart. I don’t embellish nor diminish whatever I am given.
So let’s move on, in my last Sunday Prayer Letter we talked about can two walk together, except they be agreed. This is Amos 3:3, KJV. In this letter we may talk about the start or the beginning on why this agreement is vitally important to our future. Tally ho…
The scripture base for this letter is in Romans. What a great book this is! I used to call it the Truckers Bible, or letter to the over-the-road truckers in the world! I did this because, I’ve heard people call this the Roman Road to Salvation. The book contains an easy to follow method of leading people to salvation. So, I just called it the Truckers Roman Road! Oh well, let’s go on!
Romans 10:13 (KJV) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
When I’m on the street, I usually go to a couple of other verses rather than this one is keyed off of. Namely, Joel 2:32 and Acts 2:21. In fact, let’s just put them both here…
Joel 2:32 (KJV) And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.
Acts 2:21 (KJV) And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
As you can see, these are prophetic and powerful, being full of the Holy Ghost… I mean the word of God is filled with the Spirit of truth… because God calls his word, the word of truth!
This is another reason why I love the ministry of the Holy Ghost. And also why many Christians don’t use the ministry of the Holy Ghost, because they say, that there is more to being saved than just these verses! That’s what they say, because of the corrupted bible they all read. Their bible says, you are not saved! It says, you are being saved! So the question is: Are you saved? OR… Are you being saved?
Did you answer the question?
Do you know when people began to call upon the Lord to be saved? It would surprise you! It is not in the New Testament! You might think it would be… but it’s here in Genesis… wow, the very first book of the bible! How cool is that?
Genesis 4:26 (KJV) And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.
I really love that! Can you see that people were calling on the Lord before Jesus even hung on the cross, and died for our sins, shedding his precious blood, and being buried and then raised on the third day by the Father. Folks, that is FAITH in action! Why not go read the “Hall of Faith”… it’s Hebrews 11.
Romans 10:13 (KJV) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
There is more going on here in this short text of Romans 10:13. To know what is happening here in this text, read the context of chapter 10. This chapter will provide wonderful insight into how to be saved. Then also how the Apostle Paul led people to salvation, and a simple step process that can save even the hard hearted. Some believers use this exclusively, and still others mix several scriptures together to introduce salvation to people.
For me, I just tell people give Jesus a call. I so totally rely on the power of the Holy Ghost to bring new life to people and to aid them in calling or crying out to the Lord. Much of the techniques that people use tend to come from how they got saved. That is why I do what I can to get people to read the bible, or more specifically I get them to read a gospel tract. In the tract are enough scriptures to get people thinking about salvation, or get curious to read more scriptures in the Holy Bible.
That’s what I did… the guys on board our Navy ship witnessed to me, and some how they got me interested in reading the bible. Of course, this took about a year and a half! But what is time? I finally had the opportunity to read the Holy Bible, thank the Lord it was a King James Bible!!!! HINT! HINT! HINT! Use the King James Bible! Always! Stop reading and comparing other bibles. That only destroys your faith in God’s pure and preserved word of truth.
So one day, at battle stations… Fred volunteered to leave his bible for me to read… I read for five hours… then, about two weeks later, I prayed while alone in the bunk area, of operations, (I was a Petty Officer, Quartermaster), all I said was, “Jesus, if you’re real, here I am.” That was a cry from my heart, I called out to the Lord. Jesus saved me that very second! And did a miracle with me, besides saving me.
As you can see, I didn’t go to church, I didn’t change anything in my life prior to asking Jesus into my life. I didn’t recite a certain prayer. I didn’t pray with anyone. I didn’t repent. I didn’t do nearly anything that religious Christians say to do to get saved! Do you get it!!! Stop putting more onto people than simply calling out to the Lord… that calling is a cry from their heart! Let the Holy Ghost clean them up and get them ready for the wedding. You don’t have to do it. Nor do they do it! That is all being saved by works! Not by faith!
What does the scripture say…
Romans 1:17 (KJV) For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
Habakkuk 2:4 (KJV) Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.
John 3:36 (KJV) He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Galatians 3:11 (KJV) But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
Philippians 3:9 (KJV) And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
Hebrews 10:38 (KJV) Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Hebrews 11:7 (KJV) By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
Look here at these scriptures too, and think about how you were saved, and then think about how many of the denominations save people… oh my, look at what any church does and see how they are taught to lead people to Jesus… yes, I know there are great and wonderful churches in the United States and throughout the world. However, there are a vast array of churches every where that shackle the people and restrict them from coming to Jesus Christ because they are sinners! Oh man, I could go on and on about this in the Christian world.
Here are those scriptures…
Romans 5:1-5 (KJV) Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
Do you see it is the Holy Ghost that is working in the new believer. Just cry out to the Lord, it’s easy and simple to get saved. Look here at these scriptures…
Psalm 18:6 (KJV) In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.
Yes, I know what the context is… and that is why so many are afraid to work and to rightly divide the word of truth. I hear to many say, Preacher you took that out of context, that is not referring to what you just said! Oh man, give me a break! Look at this here…
1 Corinthians 9:9 (KJV) For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen?
So, I suppose that even the Apostle Paul didn’t know what he was doing, based on what you just said… because this verse is taken out of context! Oh but wait, you read the rest of the story and now you can say, no Preacher, this is not out of context… however, when you preach, you preach all over the place! I’ve heard so much stuff over the decades. The best is to just pray to God, and ask what he wants you to do. Then go do it… immediately, or rather when God tells you when he wants you to do it. Okay?
Going all the way back to our beginning text, in Romans…
Romans 10:13 (KJV) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
This is the simplest way to be saved.
Why complicate it?
Why change it to make it a hurdle?
Living for Jesus is already a higher road!
So there you go my friend, give Jesus a call…
His number is Romans 10:13.
If that number is busy…
His back up number is Acts 2:21.
And then if that one happens to be busy…
Call this one… Joel 2:32.
Look, I’m just being humorous… getting saved is not a drudgery. Okay?
Here are a few more numbers that you can use…
2 Samuel 22:4.
1 Kings 18:24.
Hebrews 11:6.
Why do I write like this… maybe it’s this…
Hebrews 3:13 (KJV) But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
With charity,
—JC.
1 Timothy 1:5 (KJV) Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
Titus 2:2 (KJV) That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
1 Peter 4:8 (KJV) And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
Amen, and Amen.
