When we seek after God, God will make Himself known to us.
When I started 1 Samuel I was expecting something much different! I can hardly believe how 1 Samuel unfolds. The story of Samuel and his mother is beautiful. I see that more and more women are used by God because of their faith. Women have a unique and powerful faith, at least that is what I am seeing as I study each book of the Word of God, I’m calling this series, “2015 Bible”, it’s also the Category that the Blog Mission entries are listed under. (Just a side bar for you!)
1 Samuel
This book is the 9th in the Christian’s bible of 66 books listed. 1 Samuel is also called the First Book of The Kings! I didn’t know that, or just forgot. This is my sixth time of going completely through the Bible, cover to cover in a year. Each time that I have done this there has been amazing revelations from God about who He is. Each of us Christians should really spend a lot of our time getting to know who God is. When we seek after God, God will make Himself known to us. Just like He did with Samuel.
God physically called out to Samuel… “Samuel”… God did this four times because Samuel never heard the spoken Word of God, when God speaks, He sounds like ‘authority’.
The Mother Hannah
Hannah is the mother of Samuel. She has great faith. She prays like a warrior. She knows God will answer. Hannah is a woman of God! Humility is a virtue of Hannah. Possibly this humility was past onto Samuel. Because when we read throughout 1 Samuel we see over and over the humility Samuel carries. The scriptures refer to us humbling ourselves before the mighty hand of God. It is better for us to humble ourselves than to have God humble us! Think about that for awhile.
Early the next morning they arose and worshiped before the Lord and then went back to their home at Ramah. 1 Samuel 1:19
I wonder why there is so much blood shed in this book, and actually the others that I’ve studied so far? It is as if the entire land of Israel is being covered in blood. Not from animal sacrifice, no, rather from human wars, and bloody human wars. Through these readings I have actually stopped because of the constant wars. These wars were more than I wanted to hear about. 1 Samuel covers entire series of wars detailing the acts of war and the bravery of men.
David and Jonathan
The stories of David and Jonathan are quite intimate. In today’s world of allowances it seems unique that what is written appears as if it was written today. The awesome power of a partner in battle is not lightly taken. Jonathan was like a brother and a dear friend and a best friend and a prayer partner that knew it all and still loved you. Read the story in 1 Samuel and be mindful of the context around the stories.
My friend, do you have a friend to turn to in time of war? Is there someone close in your life that knows the truth and still loves you? The good news is that Jesus is that kind of a friend. Yes! By accepting what Jesus did on the cross for each of us, you can go to Jesus and ask for His Love. As the scripture says, ‘For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.’ You can read this HERE. It’s John 3:16!
1 Samuel is also the First Book of The Kings
From here we will go to 2 Samuel and finish up the story of David and Israel as it pertains to 1 Samuel.
There is so much more here in this book but it’s best if you take the time to do your own study and research because you will gain so much more from what the Holy Spirit will say to you. The purpose of my Blog Mission is to make people aware of their need of Jesus Christ as savior. -Read Acts 2:21

Touch People For Heaven
Yes… I have a life vision of one million people in heaven because I lived. As a preacher, minister and missionary; along with my forty year career as a professional driver; I am consistently looking for ways to touch people for heaven. Because to be saved through Jesus Christ is REAL. -Acts 2:21
