Matthew 17:20 (KJV) And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
I thought that title was a bit unnerving, but when I asked what’s the title, I heard the words, ‘because of your unbelief!’ I sort of chuckled to myself, because this has been an ongoing situation for so many many years! The reason why, is because I’m constantly trying to grow my faith. Getting more faith to me is important to preaching the gospel and to ministering the Spirit. Everything I do is by faith! And of course everything you do is by faith! At least, I think that is the way to say it, not quite sure?

It just seems so clear to me
I’m sitting here still laughing quietly to myself….it just seems so clear to me that faith is the beginning to all our work we do in the Lord. It’s not the beginning of wisdom, nor knowledge or even understanding…that’s all in a different situation.
But faith is how we get saved! I came to Jesus not sure if he was even real. But I did have faith to speak. I spoke a simple prayer… That was it!
“Jesus, if you’re real, here I am.”
Onboard the U.S.S. Rigel AF-58
I was onboard the U.S.S. Rigel AF-58 somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean! I was in the Operations Bunk Area, laying in the middle rack. I had just laid down, I’m not sure what time of day it was…. on board a Navy ship, everyday is the same! It really is!
But when I laid down, a few moments later I prayed my now famous tiny prayer. Suddenly, the entire middle rack was filled with a blinding white light, I couldn’t see the light, because I was blinded by this light, then I saw a dark arm from the elbow to the hand, the hand reached into my stomach, then wiggled back and forth, then pulled out of my stomach, the hand had a 10″ long by 3/8″ black fishing hook with a barb on the end, I looked at this fish hook and said, what is that? A voice said that is the hook of drugs. Then suddenly everything disappeared. I felt like a brand new person! I knew that I was just set free from drug addiction. And I knew that I was born-again and saved. Never did I have any withdrawals nor a craving for drugs of any kind. I was FREED forever!
Thank you Jesus for saving me and setting me free from drug addiction.
About two-weeks later, I was called into the ministry. (In another discourse I’ll write that testimony. It’s a good one. And in a later discourse I’ll also write how I got set free from the Occult and Devils. That is if the Holy Spirit wants me to. It’s up to him, not me.)
And Jesus said
Matthew 17:20 (KJV) And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
When we get rid of unbelief, our life will take on a miraculous influence in the world. Because of unbelief, and because of anyone’s unbelief we can do no good. The world owns us while we’re here on earth, that is if there is no faith. (or very little… just enough faith to ask Jesus to save us…many Christians stop gaining faith at that point)
How does anyone know if they have faith
So how do we know we have faith?
Let me ask again…. just exactly how does anyone know if they have faith?
Again, in other words let me ask…. is there a way to know that faith is operating in our life?
The answer is really quite simple! Let’s look at this verse… Matthew 17:20… “If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say”
Did you get the answer? “…ye shall say…”

A person can choose
Faith is built or grows or increases by speaking. The speaking must be from belief. Belief is a decision made that comes from an event and a choice. The two (event + choice) builds our belief. The more events in life coupled with choices our belief “system” is developed and from this belief we speak. How we speak is faith. Faith exercising is speaking. A person can choose to believe a lie with an event. Or a person can choose to believe a truth with an event. From either-or comes belief.
By speaking from faith, in belief, things will begin to happen. But know that this is not always an instant manifestation. Time takes place next. The mustard seed is planted. The seed begins to grow. The harvest of mustard is at a later time. Time is what grows our patience, which is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. When we live in the Spirit and speak words of belief by faith good things will happen to you and to people in your life.
The devil wants you to work
This action is called a ‘work’ in the bible. Our ‘works’ is what the Lord will be judging and rewarding us for. The devil does not want you to work. The devil wants you to work his evil deeds and his evil events and believe his evil actions.
By believing evil, then evil will happen in life. And evil will be spoken. It’s all very simple, even a child can understand. The reason why adults can’t seems to understand is that the world is full inside their heart. The world is everything to them. The Word says that the cares of this world choke the word, and becomes unfruitful, (Matthew 13:22).
Out of the abundance that is in our hearts our mouth speaks. The words, the beliefs, the events, the choices and the resulting faith is what comes out of our heart. The Word of God says, to guard our hearts.

Here are several verses talking about faith, belief, heart, speaking and things like that…
Matthew 12:34 (KJV) O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
Matthew 12:35 (KJV) A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
Matthew 15:18 (KJV) But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
Matthew 15:19 (KJV) For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
Frustrated
(I’m frustrated right here, because I’m trying to look up a certain verse, but it’s not in the King James. I studied for years corrupted bibles with misleading doctrines and faith destroying teachings and this is some of the results of not being in a faithful bible that we can build our faith upon. Be one accord! Okay, I’m going to go back and try finding that verse I want.)

With the heart
Romans 10:10 (KJV) For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
That’s not the one I was looking for…I just liked it!
I have a couple stories about speaking faith and seeing the results of faith. But some reason, I don’t want to write them here. I guess things change as I write. Not sure.
I think I just want to end it here. Just remember, that studying this verse for at least 30 minutes will yield good fruit. By putting this verse to work for the next 3 days will yield good fruit. Realize that the fruit may not be seen for 30 days, or 30 weeks, or 30 months…. and yes, maybe 30 years!
