Mark 5:20 (KJV) And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.

April 2017 I departed Redding and came to Boulder to publish in this city and this state the wonderful works and testimonies of my Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ! What a marvelous opportunity that I’ve been given. I take this very serious and not flippant nor light hearted. Jesus called me to preach and to minister according to the Word in Mark 16:15. This took place just about two weeks after I received Jesus Christ as my Saviour, I became born-again and also set free from destructive habits in my life…namely drug addiction and occultic activities.

 

Sorry, had to take a quick break

(I just had to take a break… was a bit cold and needed to pray, its amazing when I can feel the move of the Holy Spirit… (Actually, all of us need this sensitivity to the Spirit!)… so I prayed in the Spirit and put on my gold sweatshirt and some warmer white socks and even brushed my teeth and washed my face! Isn’t that weird, that here I am, praying in tongues while doing all these other activities and still had communion and fellowship with the Holy Spirit! I love the Holy Spirit… I hope you can say the same thing! The Holy Spirit is God the Spirit of the Trinity, you know, Father – Son – Spirit and these three are one… (1 John 5:7 (KJV) For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.) Anyways, I’m back as you can tell…ha ha or in other words…LOL)

 

On my mind most of today

What has been on my mind most of today is this idea of publishing. There are fifteen verses in the King James Bible talking about publishing and the idea of our verse, “…he departed and began to publish…” To publish is to make known to the public or people in the world.

There are many methods to publish. Like just writing, now this is not publishing. No, I’m writing and only I can see what it is that I’m writing. Any author can say this is the easy part, at least to me this is the easy part. All the activities after the writing is the hard part. Because you have to format the text so that it can be read, so that it can be heard, so that it can be found, so that it can be shared, so that it can go to places that I’ve never been and so that what I write will be saved for future generations. Whew, that was a mouthful! Hope you get the gist of what I just said?

 

Listening to worship music

Now, please tell me that writing is hard! No way! This activity of me sitting here with my fingers going across the keyboard and my ears listening to worship music and my mind just blissfully flowing along as I type away.

A side-note here, my mom made me take a full year of typing in high school… because of this year of typing, I’m still able to type probably 75 words a minute, I guess and I’ve been able to get up to around 140 words a minute, but that was a long time ago. Plus not many errors, oh looking at my text here on the screen, I’d say about 3 errors per 300 words. I don’t know if that is good or bad. It’s just what it is, oops made another error, well, maybe 4 errors per…ha ha… God is so good!

 

You have to resist the devil

I mean you really have to key in on what God is doing every moment of your day. Also you have to resist the devil, because he is always going to try to steal, kill and destroy whatever he can in your life. That is in John 10:10, let me put it here so you can easily read it… John 10:10 (KJV) The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (The second part of the verse is Jesus talking about himself.)

This verse, so many Christians have no idea that it exists. I hear it so often, “that you just need to ignore the devil and praise Jesus and everything will be alright.” That my friend is a formula for deception! The devil wants to hide and never be seen! Because if you don’t know he’s there, well then, he can do whatever he wants. Just keep ignoring the devil and he’ll keep on destroying your life.

Resist the devil

But you say, “there is no destruction, everything is going just fine.” That’s what the devil wants you to say… just resist the devil… in fact let me go find that verse and put it here… James 4:7 (KJV) Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

 

How to resist the devil

Let me add a few more verses telling us how to resist the devil… (Look for the key words, It is written…)

Matthew 4:3 (KJV) And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

 

Publish the Word of God

So there you go, hopefully you can see the reason why I publish the Word of God? I also study the Word of God. I write the Word of God. I speak the Word of God. I live by the Word of God. Do you? Please say, “yes!”

Going back to our key verse topic… Mark 5:20 (KJV) And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel. …another item I want to highlight is the word, departed. Just sitting around your house and never telling anyone about the gospel will never get the job done.

 

Publish the gospel

If people don’t hear or read or watch or whatever means or method is used to publish the gospel then how can they be saved? (Romans 10:15 (KJV) And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!) I think I want to put the context of this verse right here… (These verses also back up the Scripture verse that I got saved by, Acts 2:21.)

 

How shall they believe

Romans 10:13 (KJV) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

By publishing the gospel or even… Mark 16:15 (KJV) And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. …faith can come to the people. When we hear or read or listen to the gospel, good things are going to happen!

 

Read the Authorized Version, King James Bible

For me, I read the AV, King James Bible for five hours while at battle stations aboard my navy ship…I’m a Vietnam vet. Then about two weeks later or so, I prayed my famous prayer…”Jesus, if you’re real, here I am.” Wow! What a moment in my history that was! Someday I’ll tell ya’ all ’bout it.

Thank you Jesus for saving me and setting me free! Because of YOU…I am headed for heaven with eternal life! And because of YOU JESUS, I am bringing multitudes of people with me! I’m so very grateful for all that you have done in my life over all these many years. Because of you LORD…I am who I am, a Child of God! Thank you Jesus…Thanks you Jesus…Thank you Jesus…
