Matthew 6:6 (KJV) But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
Pray to thy Father which is in secret – Matthew 6:6
Matthew 6:6 (KJV) But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
This was the verse for me, during today’s school homework. It was the Scripture verse that really got highlighted or got very bold and obvious to me! It was like, whoa that is good! And that is how a verse gets written each day. Yesterday’s school work was different. But today is a new day and a new beginning, sort of. And therefore, I pray based upon this day, Wednesday, January 2, 2019!
I am super excited about God
I restarted my school work for the new year and the “Soft-launch of GEC” today. Actually, the bible study started yesterday on the first. I think this method of school for ‘Gospel Study in The KJV’ is going to be more exciting than I anticipated. Because, after the 40-45 minutes, I am super excited about God and his Word and the whole thing! Because I’m not studying some other minister’s work, which is good and proper at the right time. However, the study of God’s Word is of utmost importance and is paramount to all other study! It’s just the way it is!
You can go back in an earlier discourse and see the process of study I’m talking about. I’ll link it here. GEC Bible School is the “Gospel Study in the KJV”…I really like that slogan…because it’s true!
Shut the door and pray to the Lord
Also, there was a very cool thing that happened to me when God put me here at this studio. He told me to make room in the closet, put in a chair, and to be able to sit in the closet. When I am returning from being out in Boulder, I am to immediately go into my closet and shut the door and pray to the Lord about what I did on this day’s trip through the city.
Well, I did exactly what the Lord told me to do. And today, of course I’ve read this verse numerous times, and have used it to sanction my prayer closet…but today, was different! You see, the Holy Ghost does different things on different days. There is an exact plan for what is going on in the earth.
According to the Word of God
Nothing is happening without God doing it, and in the way that is according to the Word of God. I hope that makes sense to you. As you may know, God does not violate nor go against the Word. Read John 1:1-3…
John 1:1 (KJV) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
It will be in accordance
Do you see it? The Word is paramount in all creation! Therefore, when the Holy Ghost tells you to do something, it will be in accordance to The Word Of God (Revelation 19:13). If you can’t find it in the Word of God, then you best not partake of it…okay?
Take a look at this verse in the Old Testament…
Isaiah 26:20 (KJV) Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.
Chambers is in reference to bedroom, a secret place that no one should go except you and your spouse, if you’re married. Your bedroom is a private place, a safe place, a secure place, a comfortable place and a place to create…well, you know what I mean!
Add yourself to my daily prayer
We pray to our Father in secret
Being in a secret place is to be hid from others. And others can be, the enemy or even friends or family. To shut the door is to close out the unwanted and keep safe the wanted. As a Christian, we want the Father. Therefore, we go into our closet and shut the door. As we pray to our Father in secret…our Father who sees us in this secret place…will provide for us in the way that we need provisioning.
Your provision is sometimes not what you think they are. Why? Because oft times we can not see into the spirit world. Nor can we see what will happen tomorrow. Nor will we understand the plans for tomorrow. Only God has tomorrow planned out. If you think you know all there is to tomorrow, well, you may be surprised!
My understanding of Matthew 6:6
Matthew 6:6 also lays our framework for all of us to follow. My understanding of this verse is going to be different than yours. Why? Because of my relationship with the Father. Each of our relationships are different because each of us are different people with different needs and plans based upon what God wants for each of our lives.
This is why it is so deadly to make plans for tomorrow (I’m talking about the future.) without ever consulting with God! Oh boy, that is a big one in the modern world. The world says, “…you can make your own life happen, because you are the captain of your life and ruler of your own destiny.” That my friend, is evil…and from the deceiver who plans to steal, kill and destroy your life. Just follow Satan and everything in your life will be devoured. Guaranteed!
Do you know where
The way to do life is… “But seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Do you know where in the Scriptures this is found? Do you? If you don’t know where it is, how would you find it, by what method or tool could you use to help find it? If you have the App our church recommends, the Alexander Scourby Bible APP, you can do a Word Search for “kingdom of God”…0 results from the Old Testament and 69 results from the New Testament. Oh wow, there it is the first one on top of this list of 69 verses… Matthew 6:33…
Matthew 6:33 (KJV) But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
After reading this, you can go back to the main menu and select Chapter & Verse; select New Testament, select Mt, select 6, select 33…and there it is! Now, click play and hear Alexander read the verse to you…also, you can click on Loop and select Loop Current Verse….and wow! Alexander will read and reread and reread this single verse until you have it fully memorized! Amazing! Storing you the treasure of knowledge within your heart, with the use of one of God’s creations! I love it! Thank you Father for all that you provide to your children. I love you Father!
One of the best things
I’m going to stop here…because I can just keep typing away…I’m already typing as fast as I can, because the words just keep flowing!
Plus, this SwordSearcher Bible Software, which I’m typing on right now, one of the best things that has come into my life in 2018! I make no commission or anything for talking about this SwordSearcher. I just really enjoy the ease of finding and writing and ….well, it’s as if the software has an anointing of the Holy Spirit upon it…I know that sounds weird, but that’s sort of what it feels like. I can recognize the Spirit. I’ve been around the Spirit for a very long time and this has the markings of the Holy Spirit! God bless you Brandon Staggs for what you have written.
You give to each one
Praise the Lord! Thank you Lord for the special touches that you give to each one of your family members. Thank you for loving us with such an amazing love. Thank you for helping and showing and teaching us your Word! I worship and praise you for ever more and eternally… in your name Jesus, amen.
Let me suggest, Psalm 150! It’s a good one…
Two services I use to help support the ministry
If you would like to pledge to a brand new missionary type of church, that is being built by creating cell groups, then please use this service to give and support the work. (JC membership link) The idea is to have accountability and transparency regarding finances. Thank you for your faith.
This is a simple and effective service to hold my prayer list of people whom I’m talking with for salvation, ministry and in creating cell groups. (JC commission link) The idea is that after witnessing with a gospel tract, I stay in contact for follow up and daily prayer. God bless you.
Respectfully in JESUS,
John Choque.
Touching People For Heaven
Let me ask you a question… if you died tonight, do you have the assurance in your heart, that you would go to heaven? The answer is either yes or no, that’s it.
“And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
—Acts 2:21 (KJV).
This is the most important decision of your life. You receive eternal life by receiving Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Lord.

JOHN CHOQUE. says
I really enjoyed writing this discourse on Matthew 6:6! Praying to God in a special place dedicated to nothing but prayer can be a special time filled with the Holy Spirit! Give it a try…you may be surprised!
