The feeling that I always get when I come HOME is a pleasant peaceful happy and glad feeling of coming home from off the road!

Finishing a long-haul trip of 1400 miles in two days is a satisfying feeling. I do struggle with the traffic though. On this trip there were 9 or 10 wrecks and 1 or 2 fatalities. This is highly unusual. Weather was mostly the cause. However, drivers do have control over their vehicles, therefore they could have slowed for winter driving conditions and heavy traffic. So was it weather or people failing to heed to conditions?
This trip was rough for me. Every trip and every seasonal period has its peculiar traits. However, this trip should not have been like this. Far to many careless drivers. As you read this my friend please slow down and be alert to traffic, roads and weather. Also be alert to your own physical condition. Add to this your own attentiveness to your driving. Each of us on the roads are operating a rocket ship of sorts. There is in our control a ship that is carrying highly precious cargo… You! If you have other people in your vehicle, then they too are precious!
I operate a semi-truck over-the-road grossing about 40 tons! My braking distance is dramatically different that a family automobile. I work 14 hour days, according to my log book, and I am highly skilled in my operation. I have completed 5 Vehicle Driving Schools and numerous Safety Certificates. I have safely operated over 3 million highway miles in the US. On a side bar, for 3 years I owned an International Drivers License and operated a Ships crew vehicle in 9 different countries. I have taught 3 people how to drive. I have had a clean driving record for 37 of 38 years, my first year, 1977/1978 I had 4 small fender benders while I was learning to operate a big truck. I say all this only to let you my reader of this Blog Mission know who I am…
I am a Christian in love with Jesus Christ my savior! I have been with Jesus for 41 years, non-stop, no backsliding and never turning my back on the Lord. We have been together through a lot of events. While driving and preaching, my handle has been ‘Preacher John’ since 1984. I have been know in truck stops all across America. This is when I use to run coast-to-coast and all-48 states.
The last 25 years I have been on the West coast. I have had many different type of driving jobs in my 38 year driving career. Again, the only reason I going through some of this stuff is because I feel led to let you know a little bit about me. I hope you don’t think I am boasting or bragging, because I’m not. You too, could run down an impressive list in regards to your own career!! You are important…
Do you really know how very important you are??? Think about how much God loves us! According to John 3:16, God sacrificed His one and only Son to die on the cross for you and for me and for all of us!!! You are important…
Praise the Lord for His unmatched beauty! Praise the Lord for His unequaled majesty! Praise the Lord! Psalm 150!
Friend, I pray that you know Jesus… if by chance you don’t know where you will spend eternity… then simply turn onto Jesus and let Him take the steering wheel of your life! Turn over your life to God by receiving Jesus Christ as your savior and let God be the Go-Pilot of your life… and your vehicle.
John :)

Preacher John says
This is one of the coolest bridges to go over the Columbia River. I drive very slowly going across it. To the left is a great dam and to the right is indian fishing nets!
