From a single leaf…in about 2 months from now…this plant will be 5 years old! What you don’t know is, this amazing plant started as a single leaf tossed on the floor at a friends house.
My Little Single Leaf Glassed in Water
They wanted to throw it into the trash. I said no, I want to see if I can make it grow. There were no roots, no dirt, no life, no known way it could grow.
I brought the single leaf home. I placed it in a drinking glass full of water. I prayed over it and asked it to grow.
Everyday I talked to the single leaf in a glass of water. I prayed it over and thanked God for blessing me with this little single leaf in its glass of water. Yes everyday, when I was home, I shared my love for the plant.
This continued for over 5 months! Never did it die nor stop trying to live. I kept my friendship and care consistent.
Then one day, something changed! I looked closely and noticed a tiny white knob was protruding out of the bottom of the leaf. In my excitement I gently picked up the leaf, and oh my, the white thing fell off! I started crying because I thought I killed it! I was so sad.
Again I tenderly placed it in its glass of water and apologized for my abruptness. I continued my daily routine with my single leaf.
Early one morning, not to long after my plant’s near death experience, I walked into the kitchen and to my surprise there was another tiny white knob coming out of the bottom of my single leaf in water.
This time, because I learned, the hard way, I didn’t touch my little friend. With nurturing love and never ending patience my little leaf has grown and grown into a living testimony of God’s abiding Grace and Peace.
God bless you my dearest friends.

This little post came from what I wrote on my FB wall the other evening while standing in my kitchen and looking at my little plant…I love how God shows Himself and His character and nature in so many various and odd ways…like my little plant. God bless you all…
