I wanted to tackle this topic tonight, because I’ve been building My Prayer List on another software program called ConvertKit. So that I can keep track of the people that I’m witnessing to with gospel tracts, and I’m praying for, so that I am able to quickly contact them if and when I need to.
Time to pull in a bunch of scriptures
So, I thought it would be about time to pull in a bunch of scriptures for validating what I’m attempting do with My Prayer List. ConvertKit is where I’m holding the prayer list. (John’s commission links here and above)
As with the last several discourses, I’ve been using this intelligent bible software called SwordSearcher Bible Software. (Not a paid endorsement) What an amazing work the owner has done in creating this valuable bible tool. I’m just using a very tiny portion of its potential! Since I appear to be on the subject of services I use for creating cell groups, here is the big one, it’s called Patreon (John’s membership link), which helps creators get paid for their work! I’m truly enjoying their transparency! Now, let’s get back to prayer and scripture…
Prayer has been the focal point
Acts 6:4 (KJV) But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
This is just about exactly how I feel since I’ve moved to Boulder to build GEC. I have continually been in prayer…not so much yet in the ministry of the word. I guess you could say that writing is a form of sharing or preaching the Word. However, prayer has been the focal point since May 3, 2017 9:00 am when I arrived in Boulder. That was a Wednesday, by Saturday I was in all day prayer! I mean like 12 to 16 hours of continual prayer!
This kind of praying has been intense and literally has worn me out…not really but sort of…because this intercessional prayer usually involves a form of fasting. The fasting is what has got me…I have never done well in fasting, I really try though.
Praying is through the Spirit
Acts 12:5 (KJV) Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. (These verses are highlighted by VerseClick™ (It’s free) for easy reference, hover your mouse or tap your finger on verse.)
This is what I’m talking about…prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him…yes, this is real intercession, even though the King James Bible isn’t using the word intercession here. From my own perspective and years of ministry, the only way to successfully accomplish this type of praying is through the Spirit…namely praying in tongues.
I see people who don’t believe and they try praying and after such a short while they fizzle out. However, the believers in tongues pray without ceasing! It’s an amazing gift to be used in the body of Christ. I feel so sad at the multitudes of Christians that teach and have learned that tongues is dead. To the unbeliever of tongues, they say tongues ended when the Apostle Paul died. Isn’t that weird…I mean come on…it’s huge in the New Testament!
We are New Testament people, living under a new contract with God. God didn’t write a second new testament, as far as I know. Did He? Let me tell something important, if it’s in the contract…it’s for those who are under this contract. Therefore, as a believer in Jesus Christ, we live under the New Covenant – New Contract – New Testament! Yes, I am also including the Old Testament, because without it, life would be horrible on earth! Study the Old and the New, I actually don’t really like those titles. Anyways, amen, enough of that….this gets me riled up big time because of my history. That’s a talk for another day, though. Praise God!
Add yourself to my prayer list
Because of this way of living
Romans 12:12 (KJV) Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
One of the things I say to people on My Prayer List is that I pray every hour that I’m awake. And many times I pray in the night while asleep. Even to the point of being awoken, like last night…it was wild….I was praying about something big time and it got sort of violent. What I’m talking about is, I pray so much that prayer becomes a part of my lifestyle. Then because of this way of living, I become instant in prayer! I become sensitive to the Holy Ghost. I become filled with the Holy Ghost and with power to pray! You guys who refuse to pray in the Holy Ghost are missing a great and tremendous opportunity in serving the Lord. Just saying…
How do you become instant in prayer
So, the question is how do you become instant in prayer? Well, maybe start your own, “My Prayer List”…then begin a few minutes a day while walking through the house, or maybe make a whole in the closet, another words make room in the crowded closet for a chair, then go sit down and close the door and ask God, please help me pray…
Right here I had to stop for a moment, because I began to cry… because this is exactly what the Holy Spirit said for me to do when I moved into my new home. Make room in the closet for a chair, when you walk in the door from being out walking the streets, go into the closet, shut the door and pray for …. now I’m crying again … pray for all the people you have talked to, pray for the people who saw you, pray for the people that you saw, but didn’t talk to, pray for every foot step you took, pray for every foot the bus rolled along, pray for Boulder and pray for the people of Boulder….
Dedicate a significant portion of our time
Listen guys, there is so much work to do in the Spirit, we all must dedicate a significant portion of our time to continual instant prayer…praying in the Spirit on all occasions for all people.
Thank you Lord for allowing me to pray and thank you for My Prayer List…what a beautiful blessing!
Here are several verses that seemed to say what I am trying to say…
Reading each verse slowly
1 Corinthians 7:5 (KJV) Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.
Ephesians 6:18 (KJV) Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Philippians 1:4 (KJV) Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,
Philippians 1:19 (KJV) For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,
Colossians 4:2 (KJV) Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
Psalm 5:3 (KJV) My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
Psalm 6:9 (KJV) The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer.
Speak the Word of God aloud with authority
These are just seven verses, that relate to each other through prayer. By reading each verse slowly…I mean slow…like speak out loud so you can hear yourself and speak a couple of words at a time, being deliberate in your speech. Speak with the knowledge that as a Born-Again Christian you have been given the power to pray with authority. So speak the Word of God aloud with authority from within your spirit. Speak as if you are the boss and you are directing your employees in a procedure that is of critical proportions. You know what you’re talking about and others hear it in your voice patterns. Got it?
Information to last a lifetime
Lamentations 3:8 (KJV) Also when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer.
Now, here is something to think about. It’s best if you read the verses above and below this verse 3:8 …I’ll paste them here…
Lamentations 3:6 He hath set me in dark places, as they that be dead of old.
Lamentations 3:7 He hath hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he hath made my chain heavy.
Lamentations 3:8 Also when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer.
Lamentations 3:9 He hath inclosed my ways with hewn stone, he hath made my paths crooked.
Lamentations 3:10 He was unto me as a bear lying in wait, and as a lion in secret places.
The Word of God is filled with enough information to last a lifetime and into eternity…
Why spend years watching television…watching movies…reading material that has absolutely nothing to do with God…throwing away hours and days and weeks into social media…?
Add yourself to my daily prayer
I’m done…I typed way to much stuff…I don’t see how anyone can read and digest even a fraction of what I put here on this page…
I love you very much and if you too are not on My Prayer List, it’s easy to do…I have a spot on this page for you to add yourself to my daily prayer. I tell everyone that I will be emailing a letter once a week for a little while so that you can get to know who I am. And to know that I am praying, seriously.
Blessings and Healing be in your family tonight and tomorrow, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
By the way, I sure hope I haven’t offended you in this discourse…I talk sort of rough most times, my excuse is four decades of living on the road as a trucker…my thought has always been, give them everything right now, because you may never see them again…which has been true most of my life. Probably why my CB handle is Preacher John.
God bless….
Two services I use to help support the ministry
If you would like to pledge to a brand new missionary type of church, that is being built by creating cell groups, then please use this service to give and support the work. (JC membership link) The idea is to have accountability and transparency regarding finances. Thank you for your faith.
This is a simple and effective service to hold my prayer list of people whom I’m talking with for salvation, ministry and in creating cell groups. (JC commission link) The idea is that after witnessing with a gospel tract, I stay in contact for follow up and prayer with each person. God bless you.
Respectfully in JESUS,
John Choque.
Touching People For Heaven
“And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
—Acts 2:21 (KJV).
This is the most important decision of your life. You receive eternal life by receiving Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Lord. “Jesus, if you’re real, here I am.” —John Choque, 1974.
JOHN CHOQUE. says
Prayer is so important to bringing into existence a brand new ministry church. Prayer and fasting are required if you want the Holy Spirit to be involved. It’s serious Kingdom stuff!
